(10/11) – 29 years old Moses, a young television journalist from Kundrapur of Kancheepuram district outskirt of Chennai was reported to be killed on last Sunday. He used to work for a Tamil television channel, and kept investigating a doubtful land sell. He had received multiple death threats previously as well, but kept reporting land related news regularly. Moses used to collect underground report for a Tamil Television special show about those anti-social elements. After reporting Ganja related news, he kept getting death threats.
According to the state president of ‘Working Journalists’ Union’, Tamil nadu, miscreants called up Moses while he was going out of his house on Sunday night. They asked him to do something. Then his father got to heard his cries and came out. At that time, the miscreants were attacking him with dagger. Seeing his father, attackers went away. Moses was taken to the hospital immediately, but due to extreme bleeding he died.
Jesudas, the father of the deceased journalist who was also a journalist said that, after reporting news about illegal ganja supply, he got death threats. He also complained about it at police station verbally, but didn’t report in writing, so his son got killed said, deceased father.
However as per the Tamilnadu State President of the ‘Working Journalist’s Union’ Sagayaraj, they have appealed the State government to provide the assistance of 25 lakhs rupees to his family and government job for a family member. A case has been registered at Somangalam police station and investigation is going on as news published on ‘The News Minute’. But leaders who are supporting the Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV, Arnab Goswami who encouraged two persons to commit suicide, are keeping dead silence on this murder, is surprising.
